Organized crime as a serious threat to national security in Peru is a phenomenom that manifests itself through the infiltration of criminal organizations into government institutions, where they establish corrupt links with public officials. This corruption not only facilitates impunity for criminal activities, but also erodes public confidence in the political system, weakening the legitimacy of institutions and undermining the rule of law.
